Luke van Zeller
General Manager - Business Development
Luke has worked in the energy and international development fields for nearly 18 years, working across remote Australia, London, Singapore, Malaysia, Timor Leste and New Zealand.
Prior to Infratec, Luke was the general manager for an Aboriginal organisation in rural Western Australia where he managed the power and water assets for over 26 remote Aboriginal communities.These power assets included community scale solar PV, solar bores and hybrid systems. He was instrumental in actively disconnecting the organisation from electricity network through the installation of a solar/battery hybrid system; the first company in Australia to actively disconnect from an electricity network.
Luke worked as a project manager at Western Power on the Perth Solar City project. The project included the deployment of over 12,000 smart meters and over 600kW of solar PV. As part of Perth Solar City, Luke worked on a number of trials covering demand management, direct load control, residential tariffs and inhome electricity displays.
Other relevant experience includes the management of a large-scale energy efficiency project and managing energy and climate change policy development on behalf of low income groups (WACOSS 2008-2010); lecturing and tutoring for undergraduate students studying energy and climate change subjects (Curtin University 2008-09); and working on international development projects in Singapore and Malaysia (1999-2004) and Timor-Leste (2005).
