Gisborne Airport’s solar farm, Te Ihi o te Rā, celebrated last week as it became New Zealand’s largest operational solar farm, for now.

The project was built with the support of (hapū) Ngai Tāwhiri and will improve the region’s energy resilience.and the communities within. The solar farm will generate approximately 7300MW of renewable energy annually, enough to power 1000 typical households.
